                     Everything is coming along !!

Every year the Art's Club has a parade of homes.  People set up elaborate decorations in their home and the club sales tickets to view these homes.  Only 200 tickets are sold.  This year I have been asked to be one of the stops.  No, they are not coming to my home but to the Gallery  in town where they will view my Old German Santa's, Candy Containers Santa's, & my Snowpeople.

I have hands and gloved hands on one cookie sheet, Snowpeople on another and Santa's faces on another.  I have standing bodies all over the shop and of course, the sitting bodies in a safe place, so I won't poke my eye with the wires.   LOL

Here are some of my Santa faces just waiting for the beard to grow.  Some of these are Santa Candy Containers, Some are special orders and children, candy containers.

The Snowpeople were out in the hot sun yesterday.   I was giving them  the final no melt test.  See, my Snowpeople, never melt.

Right now I have the boots and hands on a special sheet to dry then hard so I can start to assemble.

Every time I do a part of the Santa or Snowpoeple, I say, "This is my favorite part".

I am sculpting a new face, " This is my favorite part".

I paint the faces to get a look that I am after, "This is my favorite part.  I have found that, I love it all.

Come back soon to see finished  Santa's.  Hope to have some done  by this weekend.  They will go on my facebook page and then onto ebay & etsy.

Where has summer gone?

I can't believe that it is so cool outside.  Going down to 49 in the east tonight.  Where has the hot summer gone? I can only remember 1 & 1/2 weeks of hot weather.  I love Winter but, I want some summer also.  I have been working on my Santa boots all weekend.  Everything just takes so long to do.  I love it though.

I will have new Snowmen and Santa's on line soon.

             German factory closing it's doors.

I was so sad to find out yesterday that a German factory that has been manufacturing paper mache boots, balls and eggs,  has closed it's doors.  It was always special to have a pair of paper mache boots on a Santa and to say, the "boots were made in Germany".

I have been thinking all day about how to replace, the irreplaceable.  What do I craft to make it still feel special ?  I have been working on ideas all day.  A few look promising, but not like the German boots.

Working Fast & Furious

             Working Fast & Furious

I have been working on Santa's and Snowmen so fast and furiously.  I had been sick and now I have to catch up.  I found a branding black & white that I am going to use.  I just love it so much.  I liked it so much that I added a new board to pinterest, Black & White

It is filled with so many silhouettes that I had a hard time deciding on what to use.

Here are a few of my favorites. I then had to decide on something totally different because this only represented Christmas.  What about the other Holidays I love?

Old German Santa
Jolly Santa I grew up with.

An older Santa that I love, love, love.

I had one more favorite and I picked it.  Here it is.  My new Branding, Black & White.

Soon, it will be on all my sites.  When you see it, I will be close by.

I felt that it has a "Holiday Festive  Spirit" about it but, you would never guess what Holiday.  That is why, I thought it was perfect.  It can represent all the Holidays that I create for !!

Please keep watch for more news from me as I go about creating Santa's that look old, even though they are new.

I will have a lot of candy container Santa's and Elves, and children.  What good is Christmas without children. Santa needs a child   next to him.  Don't you agree.

Check out my Facebook page.  That is where I sell from, before ebay.  I even give sneak peeks on that page also.  Email me with any questions.

As of today,  151 days until Christmas.  Start your shopping early.

This year  Shop ~~ Made in the USA,
Buy~~~ Handcrafted.

More are showing up , Oh My

More of the Witch's  sisters have showed up at my door step.  I can't really tell if they are male or female.  That  process happens in my mind when I  start to dress them. So it will be at least a week before I can define them.

They are sun bathing back by the swimming pool and again, they are made on real gourds or foam, covered in paper clay and paper mache.  They do look just as scary as their sister who arrived the other day.

This smiling one told me, that more are are their way !!  How Many ??  She did not know .

How do I explain all those little brooms on my front porch ?

Thanks so much for stopping by.   Will be posting more sneak peeks this week.  Keep watch for them.

Cheers, Dolores

Who showed up on my doorstep ?

A Gourd Witch and 2 Snow People

I was so happy this week to see who was at my front door this.  A Gourd Witch and 2 Snow People.  They were all smiles.  The Snow People, are La Befana's that are already sold.  They go so fast.  They are not quite ready yet, but I will post when the are.

The Gnarly Witch showed up also.  She was so much fun.  She was made over the top of a wonderful gourd.  I made all the gnarly face features.  I just loved doing her.  You can bet, more are on the way.

The Gourd Witch is such a change from the Santa's and Snow People I make.

Her is a little fellow that wanted to be finished off this week.  He is smoking his pipe on a cold winters day.

He has a little bit of  work required and of course, a cape.  What color should it be?

Thanks for stopping to take the time to look.  Check back again in a few days.  There will be more.  DK Vintage Holiday is up and running.

Easter on it's way !!

                               Easters on it's way

Hello hello.  Easter is almost here and I am so sad that I did not get any Easter art finished.  Things just did not work out.  It was just one thing after another.  Not good things, bad things.  My husband said that he felt my heart was not in Easter.  My love of Christmas and Halloween overshadowed Easter.  Maybe he is right.  I have various Easter  pieces, half finished, all over my workshop. I want to clear it all out and start my Uncle Sam, Santa's, and Halloween men, and Witches.

I am working on 2 stuffed Bunnies for my Grand daughters.  I'll get some pictures up as soon as I can.  Lindsey wants a pink one and Lauren wants a blue one.  Oh, they want a basket on his back.   They even told me what they want inside their basket.  They are only 5 .

               Santa's and Halloween Men

I  have Santa's stripped pants made and great old flannel, in a dull blue, for the jacket.  He will be just great.  I am also making tons of Santa candy containers, with my hand sculpted faces.  These little faces look like Elves. In fact some will be elves.

I hope you like the new look of my blog.  I worked on it over the weekend.  I also trying to figure out how to have 2 small columns on each side of the middle.  And, now the list of my post have disappeared.  Yikes !!!  What do I do?

Ok,  going to my workshop.  I am going to try to finish my 2 bunnies for Lindsey Grace and Lauren Noel.   Grandma loves you. !!

Hoppy Easter
