Santa in Red

Everyone loves Santa in Red. Its bright and happy. Even while they were dressing Santa in other colors, Santa in Red was there also.  Here are just some of the postcards I have found.

I have so many favorites. It is hard trying to pick out just one.

Well, we have seen Santa in Green and Blue,

How about Purple?

Anytime I saw a purple coated Santa, they always seem to have it listed as a rare color for him.  So, the hunt went on to find Santa dressed in purple. I laugh, because that is the same thing they said about the blue coat Santa. Why? This is what I figured out.

The people went not as connected to other countries like we are today. If they were producing these post cards in Germany and Italy, it may be rare for someone to get them if  they lived in the United States. I believe that each region of the world decided what they thought Santa would wear and look like.  Purple is a very rich color, and usually only royalty used it.  Purple was often a color that was very expensive and difficult to make and manufacture. As such, royalty would often be seen wearing it.

Happy Be Your Christxas !           I was surprised to see Christmas spelt like this.   I loved the icicles.

This card has a name Millie on the front of it.    Was it the name of the person sending the card?  Was it the name of the little girl who was going to receive the card? This is where my imagination runs away.  I try to decide who this card would be for.  How old was she?  Was she someones loved one, girlfriend or sister. Just wish I could see the other side.  I just want to catch a glimpse into another time.

If you found this interesting go to my Pinterest Page and see what other Santas I have there.  While you are
there, take a look at DK Vintage Holiday ........Those are my art dolls.

Here are  the Blue Santas !!

I thought there were a lot of Santas with green coats, but there are more blue Santa coats displayed on old postcards. Although they are described as rare, I found quite a few Santas in blue coats. Here are a few.

All these Santas and many more can be found on my Pinterest boards.

My Pinterest Boards.  My Santas and Snowmen will get posted on my boards before anywhere else.

This is one of my favorite Santas. I love the gold design on his coat and inside robe.

This is also another favorite.  I like the short robe over his pants and boots.

Santa just goes out and chops down the trees.  Germany had a large number of forest.  As the Christmas tree decorating tradition became more popular, they became worried of deforestation.  That is when they started making alternatives, hence the feather trees.

We are going from winter to fall??

The long long winter is over. The spring was way too cold and summer is only in the 60's.  What is going on?

Someone told me it is because of me.  My phrase, "Its always Christmas at my house." I just mean in the house not outside, so it can't be me.

I have been working on some orders and new Santas and Snowmen.  Oh, how cute they are. I fall in love with them.  In my search for new ideas I have come across so many new, Vintage Post  Cards. Just when I think I could never find a new Santa, I come across one on Pinterest.. If you want to check them out go to my Pinterest page.I have a lot of my Santas posted on there. Pinterest DK Vintage Holiday

I am posting a few for you too see now. In the future I will give you a little bit of Santa information.Where he came from and how he got started..  At a show one time, I told a lady who was interested in my Santas that at one time Santas were mean and stern.  She told me that she did not want to hear that.  Good thing I never told her about Krampus, she would have thrown herself off a bridge. So tag my page and learn about Santas History.

With this Blue Santa, you can print it out and put it on top of a cookie.

I came across a page that had several Green suited Santas.  They looked so nice. Caught my eye because mostly everyone thinks Santa and a red suit.

Cheers, Dolores
