                  Seven Santa's will arrive tomorrow.

I am so happy that 7 Santa's will be here tomorrow.  I can't wait until they arrive.  I passed over my Halloween to make sure i got the Santa's done.

They are all big Santa's about 22 inches.  They won't be totally finished but almost.  I just want to show them off.

2 of the Santa's have little children with them.  He found them in the woods.  They heard the bells on his coat ringing and went to look for him.  Ahhhhhhhh !

They both have frozen Charlotte's with them.  Theses dolls were dug up in Germany.  They spent a long time in the ground.  They were dumped because they were not perfect and they have been there for over 150 years.  I was so lucky to have some of them to put with my Old Germany Santa's.  They where found while digging in factory yard in Limbach in Thuringia Germany.

I love this old stuff.  It makes the Santa's so much more real.

See you tomorrow !!

Cheers, D Koper

Wow, Christmas is coming fast and it seems to come ever year at the same time.  So why can't I get done?

Well, here it comes.  Every year I say I will be ready but I can see me falling behind.

I am still working on orders and can't wait until I mail them out.  They are coming out beautiful.  I hope the people will be happy with them.

***  I will have a 1 man show at the Gallery in Weirton.  This will be on November 16, 2013.   This was a great honor.  I hope I have enough art Santa's done so I have a good showing.

Some of what I am working on.

above:
This is an antique, silver toned candle clip from Germany.  It even has a burnt candle still in it.  Oh, the secrets it could tell about the family and children  who used it.  I would love to hear it speak.

above:

These are 6mm glass beads that I strung on Bullion Wire, and am going to sew it to Santa's hat.
I just can't stop adding detail.  That is what it's all about.  Everywhere you look , you see something different.

I love the Christmas rush.  As Long it's not me doing the rushing.  I love the hustle and bustle  of people passing on the street, all the shops decorated, and the smell of cinnamon everywhere you go.  The only problem with the cinnamon smell is I want to eat all the time.  What else?   Gingerbread cookies .

I won a wonderful little gingerbread house cake mold.  I think it may take 1/2 of a cake mix.  Can't wait to try it.  I will take the cake to my Grand daughters at Thanksgiving and we will decorate it for Thanksgiving.  Of Course we will have pumpkin pies also.

Ok, You have been warned.....Start Christmas Shopping right now.

See you in a few days !!  Merry Christmas !

                                   Santa's are here !!

After 2, ten hours days, the Santa's have beards.  Very time consuming but, this is where their personality comes out.  They started to really talk to me about who they are and where they come from.

                                         Santa's and Elf"s

Some are Primitive Santa's and some are, the Jolly old Elf.  In fact,  2 little elf's showed up this year. They said that Santa's need help this year.  I have never had Elf's before.

Several Santa's  told me they were Old World, German Santa's.  They will go on top candy container bodies.

Some of these Santa's have beards of recycled rabbit fur, curly sheep wool and Peruvian sheep wool.  The white rabbit fur in the middle make the other Santa's look yellow, but they are all a soft white.

One of my favorite Santa's will be kneeling in front of Baby Jesus and holding onto his hat.  Merry Christmas

                     Everything is coming along !!

Every year the Art's Club has a parade of homes.  People set up elaborate decorations in their home and the club sales tickets to view these homes.  Only 200 tickets are sold.  This year I have been asked to be one of the stops.  No, they are not coming to my home but to the Gallery  in town where they will view my Old German Santa's, Candy Containers Santa's, & my Snowpeople.

I have hands and gloved hands on one cookie sheet, Snowpeople on another and Santa's faces on another.  I have standing bodies all over the shop and of course, the sitting bodies in a safe place, so I won't poke my eye with the wires.   LOL

Here are some of my Santa faces just waiting for the beard to grow.  Some of these are Santa Candy Containers, Some are special orders and children, candy containers.

The Snowpeople were out in the hot sun yesterday.   I was giving them  the final no melt test.  See, my Snowpeople, never melt.

Right now I have the boots and hands on a special sheet to dry then hard so I can start to assemble.

Every time I do a part of the Santa or Snowpoeple, I say, "This is my favorite part".

I am sculpting a new face, " This is my favorite part".

I paint the faces to get a look that I am after, "This is my favorite part.  I have found that, I love it all.

Come back soon to see finished  Santa's.  Hope to have some done  by this weekend.  They will go on my facebook page and then onto ebay & etsy.
