It's Snowing here  ~  11/7/2014

My home and shoppe are in the Hill of West Virginia.  We are between Pennsylvania and Ohio.  We have the best of all 3 worlds.  I am so excited that it is snowing.

I have 3 Santas going to spend Christmas in New York.  What lucky little fellows.  I am feverishly working on toys and other Santa necessities.  I like to add a few surprises that the customer does not know they are getting.

I love these vintage and antique post cards and pictures I post.

 * With this card, I decided I was going to use it for money  or gift cards.

I will print out the card on photo paper and then slit the bottom of his bag.  You can see a line in the bag already.  Then I will glue a card stock paper behind it.  Just glue around the edges.  You can then slip the money or gift card right up inside Santa's bag.

How about you try it also and I will post the pictures.

Merry Christmas,   Dolores Koper

St. Nick, before he goes away.  Why do I get so attached to them?

St Nick carries a bag of gold. Actually gold, vintage, Mercury Glass Beads.  He tosses these into the window of young women who want to marry but have no dowry.

St Nick getting ready to go to Virginia for Christmas

St Nick is almost ready to go to Virginia for Christmas 2014.  His bags are packed and I am bundling him up good for the journey. This Santa has a wool sweater under his vestments.  It has 4 contrasting buttons.  I know you won't see it but I like them to be made nice.

I needed a face for a Snowlady, Grandma Frost, Mrs Santa.

While my slacks were in the dryer I sat down and did this face in 50 minutes.  It still needs some refinement but I had to come up with something new for several orders.  I could even make it a Santa.

Snowlady, Miss Frost, Mrs Santa?  What do you think?

Merry Christmas, D Koper

Like a kid on Christmas morning.

I just could not wait to get into this box.  Besides, the mail man left it on the porch and did not ring the bell and it sat there for a whole day.  : (

I just love the chenille Santas that I got.  The mellow color of the vintage mercury glass beads are so wonderful.

It feels like late fall here.

Wow it got so cold so fast that I completely overlooked Halloween.  I guess that is because I was swamped with Santa orders.  I never got to finish my Witches.  I guess the can wait another year. Santas are in demand.

This little fellow is on ebay as we speak.  He is so cute.  His shoulders can move so you have a few options with him.

While going through my photos, I just realized that I had an order for this Santa in a red undercoat.  Yikes.

My husband is making me wooden boxes to pour some molds in. I am going to get them on here as soon as I can.  I have been asked to go and show at so many different exhibitions  and shows that I can hardly do any.  Not enough time.

Just remember to start early this year so you can enjoy the holidays.  One year I cooked my turkey, sliced  it and had it ready to go for Christmas dinner.  From the freezer to the the oven to the table.  No one knew but me.  lol

Fall is here, and I am just thinking about Christmas.

My eye is looking for some wonderful fabrics for Santa and my Snowbabies. I have used vintage pink wool and antique white leather gloves on this Snow Lady.
She has just come from the Opera and Papa gave her a wonderful Frozen Charlotte.

Yep, I cut the fingers off a pair of opera gloves to make her very special.

Jingle bells on her hat.

Yes, I am thinking about Christmas and Snow.

Christmas is only 91 days away.

While my daughter was in the shower, her 6 year old twins, found her Christmas stash and even her special Santa wrapping paper.  When she got out of the shower, they had all the toys lined up in the hall way.   LOL LOL

Baby it's cold outside !

Where did summer go?  It is only in the 60's this past week and one night it went down to 41.  Of course it had to be the morning I was getting up and going to work.  Shower in the cold did feel kind of nice.  I hope you are having a warmer last week of summer and some Indian Summer where you live.

I have been working on several things.  As usual, I have too many irons in the fire.  Working on my web site.  It's up, but no one can buy yet. I don't have that part set up yet.

I did want to show you what I have on it though.

Don't you just love this picture ?

This magazine comes out on Sept. 9,  2014.  I share the center fold with another artist.

I HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BY EARLY AMERICAN LIFE MAGAZINE AS

ONE OF THE BEST AT WHAT I DO. MAKE SANTAS !!

I have been chosen by a panel of experts who judged me on skill, artistry and historical inspiration of my Santas. I was selected by the jury to be among the Best in America at what I do. Because of this, I have had my first publication, in the Early American Life magazine.

This will be the Early American Life Christmas ~

I was fortunate enough to share the center of the magazine with another artist.  I'll post a picture as soon as I can.  I am walking on air right now.

Cheers and Merry Christmas,  Dolores

It's always Christmas at my house.

Santa Candy Container is finished

My Santa Candy Container Bust

I finished my Santa candy container.  I brushed out the beard and refined the eyes and then I fired it.  I am trying to find the separating line so I can make his mold.
